Vancouver Island Wineries - Our Guide
To The Best

Take the road to an easy adventure... check out some of the Vancouver Island wineries that offer free year-round vineyard tours and wine tastings.

The surprise is that yes! we make great wine on Vancouver Island. Our southern Island weather creates the right kind of climate for grape growers. Grown, harvested and bottled right here.

Best way to see it all? Join up with a guided tour, or grab a map and head out on your own to the southern Island region.

Here's our hand-picked favourites of the...

Best Vancouver Island Wineries

Zanatta Winery

Specializing in champagne-style wines and more, Zanatta is one of the top Vancouver Island wineries. During summer hours, don't miss a stop in at their quaint restored farm house restaurant Vinoteca. Order their oven-roasted Cornish hen. Check into their website for more info.

What Not to Miss: the Ortega - a nice dry white wine.

Blue Grouse Vineyards & Winery

Blue Grouse Estate is one of the founding vineyards on the Island. They produce a good selection of hearty reds and crisp whites, which are served at Island restaurants and resorts. Location is an easy drive from Victoria-about 45 km north. Check out their website for the hours of operation.

What Not to Miss: the exclusive Black Muscat, an excellent rich red.

Cherry Point Vineyards

Located in Cobble Hill - about a 45 minute drive north of Victoria - this is an excellent vineyard on Vancouver Island. Easy to get a tour and tastings as they're open 7 days a week. We recommend that you visit their website first to find out more information before you head out.

What Not to Miss: the Cowichan Blackberry dessert wine.

Marley Farm Winery

A small (yet intriguing) winery, these guys offer up fresh, small batches of fruit wines. Located in Saanichton - just a short drive north of Victoria on the peninsula. Winter and summer hours differ, so visit their website and contact them before you visit.

What Not to Miss: Rastaberry blend.

Best Guided Wine Tours Vancouver Island

Here's our top picks for the guides we recommend...

Crush Wine Tours

Based out of Victoria - a good mix of full or half day trips to southern Island wine makers are offered at quite reasonable prices. If you've got something specific in mind, they can customize a tour for you (minimum of 2 people required).

Grand Wine Tours

Also based out of Victoria - offers generous full day tours with a bonus: the option of including an overnight stay at local wine valley resort... the Oceanfront Grand Resort & Marina in the Cowichan Valley. Good value for their tours.

Have a great time visiting our Vancouver Island wineries!
