The Island's Best Guided Sea Kayaking Vacations

Here's one we just found out about... and they've got some excellent western coast guided kayaking tours off Vancouver Island's western coast that we'd recommend you check out. Wildheart Adventures has got some really good tours, plus some excellent guided family kayaking packages. Definitely check out the Clayoquot Sound Expeditions (our favourite location!), or if you're super adventurous, the Nootka Island expedition would be a winner.

Tofino Sea Kayaking Company(Tofino-western coast)

One really excellent tour company offering sea kayaking vacations is the Tofino Sea Kayaking Company . Paddle the gorgeous Clayquot Sound. We like all the choices they offer for kayaking tours: wilderness or lodge-based kayaking, full day tours, even custom and private tours - led by experienced naturalist guides. Note: Tours operate from May to October only.

WeGo Kayaking(Duncan-southern Island)

An excellent kayaking tour company we'd recommend in this area is WeGo Kayaking expeditions, located in Duncan (about 40 minutes north of Victoria). Very good paddling tours offered of Johnstone Strait and the Gulf Islands, just east of Vancouver Island. Complete packages offered - including meals (they'll prepare traditional Canadian west coast meals for your trip).

Kayak Utopia(Comox Valley-central Island)

If you're looking for a kayaking tour location from the central/northern island region, then we'd recommend Kayak Utopia . They offer good sea kayaking tours at reasonable prices from Courtenay (in the Comox Valley) and from Campbell River. Try paddling day drips to Tree Island or to Quadra Island. Lots of other good trips, including evening paddling. This is a good company to go with if you're new to kayaking.

Sea Kayak Adventures(Port McNeill-northern Island)

The northern Island is saturated in scenery, and a great way to see it is with this tour company: Sea Kayak Adventures . They've got an excellent 6-day summer guided kayaking tour in stunning Johnstone Strait. You'll get a close-up view of our Island's Orcas (Killer Whales), and see spectacular scenery.
