Our Photos of Scenery on Vancouver Island - East/Central Coast
On this page, we'll be adding our photos of scenery on Vancouver Island... along the eastern coast and up to the central Island region.
The eastern coast of the Island is the most populated, with cities and towns dotting the coastline. This side of the Island also has a good highway structure, so traffic flows smoothly and quickly.
The scenery is diverse and there are some truly breathtaking views. Take a look at some of the pictures we've been taking. Check back often - we'll be adding more during our travels!

This picture is taken from a viewpoint at the top of the Malahat. The Malahat is the piece of highway that connects Victoria to Duncan, in the Cowichan Valley. At the highest point, you can pull off and see a stunning panoramic view east, looking toward Sidney on the Peninsula.

Recently, we stopped to take a picture of some farmland just north outside of Nanaimo (the Island's 2nd largest city). The Island has got plenty of farmland and rolling green hills that run parallel to the highways.

Right on the eastern/central coast, you'll find the city of Parksville, and this place...Rathtrevor Beach. A great place to just come and sit and watch the ocean roll in, and for kite flying!
YES...even though we live on an Island in the Pacific, we still get snow!
Here I am with Nolen at the Comox Harbour on a January day. The town of Comox lies on the eastern coast, about a 1 hour drive north of Nanaimo.
