Vancouver Island's Best Fly-in Resorts for Spas and Adventures

Start roughing it in style! If it's luxury fly-in resorts - tucked away under the shadows of forests and mountains - that you're looking for, we'll tell you about the hidden away Vancouver Island resorts that will leave you in awe!

Interested in eco resort vacations?

If you want a unique, upscale, environmentally sensitive vacation, we'll tell you where there's a top-notch luxury resort spa nestled in the wilderness... complete with generators. Imagine sleeping in a "tent" under the forest canopy... all in luxury!

We've got some pretty incredible remote resorts out here. Don't just take our word for it... Vancouver Island's Clayoquot Wilderness Resorts & Spa made the Top 5 Best North American Retreats (we'll tell you about this one).

Our favourite remote resorts here on Vancouver Island are accessible only by plane or boat. Generally, it's best to bring children who are a bit older, due to the accessibility factor and the rugged surroundings. However, contact the resorts directly by phone to discuss your family arrangement. There may be special provisions for children, or tours/activities to accommodate families.

Our Top Picks For Best Fly-in Resorts on Vancouver Island

Eagle Nook Wilderness Resort & Spa - If you want a remote outpost resort vacation, then you'll absolutely LOVE this place! Rated as one of the most liked (and top-rated) fly-in resorts in the Pacific Northwest, you'll love the solitude of the wilderness here.

Situated on the western Island in Barkley Sound (between Ucluelet and Bamfield), this fly-in resort is also accessible by boat. Stay in the lodge, or for a more wilderness-feeling retreat, grab one of the log cabins (the cabins have a fireplace and are a bit more cozy than the lodge rooms).

Definitely head out for a kayak tour, as Eagle Nook is located in the heart of some of the world's top kayaking locations. Good hiking trails around the resort too. Note: Resort open only May through September.

Clayoquot Wilderness Resorts & Spa - Your eco resort awaits! If you want luxury while you "rough" it, these two incredible eco resorts are situated in one of our favourite places on Vancouver Island - in stunning Clayoquot Sound.

Surrounded by wilderness, the Clayoquot Wilderness resorts are two truly unique accommodations.

The Bedwell River Outpost is a grouping of 10 luxurious canvas guest tents in the middle of old-growth rainforest. Tents are outfitted with handmade Adirondack furniture and Persian carpets, and outhouses are "eco-sensitive" with compost toilets. Don't be fooled by the sound of "outhouse" - these accommodations ooze luxury! You'll find hot tubs, a spa built around a waterfall, and a library tent. Outstanding, elegant 4 course meals with fresh local food in the dining tent. The spa is one luxury you won't forget... go for the decadent 1 hour massage.

The sister resort, Quait Bay is a rustic luxury floating lodge, complete with a spa and elegant dining (incredible cuisine!) Don't miss out on kayaking when you stay here - good chance you'll see bears along the shoreline! Grab one of the in-house wilderness guides, and head out on some fantastic hikes and other adventures offered at the resort. If possible, visit the lodge a little later in the season. It'll be less crowded, with more room in the various tents. Note: Both resorts here are seasonal, so be sure to check their web site.

Have a fantastic Island getaway... and enjoy the remote, rugged natural beauty surrounding our best Vancouver Island fly-in resorts!
