Flights to Vancouver Island
Our Easy Guide on How to Get Here

Wondering about flights to Vancouver Island? Whether it's a quick weekend getaway or a longer vacation stay, there are lots of options for getting over to our Island in the Pacific.

Check out our easy guide we've pulled together on flying to Vancouver Island.

Don't want to fly? We've got information on Vancouver Island bus service - daily departures to and from the Island. Lots of easy ways to get here and start your adventure!

About The Victoria International Airport (YYJ)

The Victoria International Airport is located an easy 30 minutes north of Victoria, on the Saanich Peninsula, and is serviced by direct and connecting daily flights from cities across Canada and the United States.

Airlines that service Victoria BC International Airport, and other Vancouver Island airports:

Pacific Coastal Airlines
West Coast Air Ltd.
WestJet Airlines
Horizon Air (Alaska Airlines connector)

Access to the airport is via the Pat Bay Highway (the only main highway on the peninsula-can't miss it). Going to or coming from the airport is easy. Tons of good signs direct you - just get on the highway and follow them.

Need a ride to hotels in Victoria, BC? For anyone out there catching flights to Vancouver Island, you'll be happy to know that there's a regularly scheduled airport shuttle that can take you directly to downtown Victoria BC hotels. Easy!

Flying to Victoria's Inner Harbour

Floatplanes are another very good option (semi-adventurous) - if you want to arrive right in the heart of downtown Victoria BC.

Daily scheduled flights come from Vancouver BC harbour and the downtown Seattle harbour.

Here are the ones that will get you here:
Harbour Air
Kenmore Air

Helicopter Service (adventurous!) that puts you only a short hop from downtown Victoria BC (from Vancouver, BC only): Helijet International.

Other Transportation

NOTE: There's also direct daily bus service available, and it's a good second option for getting on and off the Island (we've used these buses extensively).

If you arrive in the city of Vancouver, head to the bus terminal to catch Pacific Coach Lines from Vancouver BC to downtown Victoria.

CAREFUL! The buses are timed with the BC ferry schedules, so we highly suggest you read carefully their web site's bus schedule (or call them) so you can time your travel accordingly.

Hope you find our Flights to Vancouver Island Guide helpful with your adventure planning. See you out here!
