Not to be overlooked are all our great Island golf accommodations. We've got some pretty outstanding golf resorts where you can relax, sip wine and overlook the greens. From Vancouver Island oceanfront golfing, to open courses surrounded by gentle rolling hills, to greens nestled in sequoia, arbutus, and Douglas Fir forests... there's just so many unique and challenging courses.#2 Once again... we love our great weather! Diehard golfers can even go out and shoot a round in January. #3 We like that there's a real emphasis across the Island on continuous course improvement. We're also glad to see that the Island is starting to stand out with some really professionally-designed courses. For example, Jack Nicklaus just finished overseeing the design and development of Bear Mountain in Victoria (southern tip of the Island). Les Furber, one of Canada's top golf course architects, carved out the outstanding Storey Creek course on the northern Island (Golf Digest gave it a 4-star rating).
