Find the Perfect Dinner Cruise Victoria BC Has to Offer
It's time to celebrate all your adventures! We'll help you find the perfect dinner cruise Victoria BC has to offer. A Vancouver Island dinner cruise is an excellent way to sit back and see the gorgeous scenery in a different way. Victoria BC and Sooke BC, both located on southern Vancouver Island, are two perfect locations!
SO WHY ARE THESE THE PERFECT LOCATIONS? Because this is where you'll sail along the beautiful southern point of the Island along the spectacular Juan de Fuca Strait. Watch the sun set on the Olympic Mountain range in Washington State. And on your evening dinner cruise Victoria BC awaits you with it's famous Inner Harbour. Right now, there are only two dinner cruises on Vancouver Island that we know of. So we'll tell you what they're about, and where to find them...
Dinner Cruise - Victoria BC
OAK BAY BEACH HOTEL & MARINE RESORTSORRY! RIGHT NOW THE OAK BAY BEACH HOTEL & RESORT IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED AND IS IN THE MIDST OF REBUILDING THEIR HOTEL (due to the age of the structure, etc). THEY'LL BE RE-OPENING IN 2009. We were really sad to hear of this, because they offered one of the BEST dinner cruises in Victoria. But we're just waiting for 2009 when they're back and offering Victoria dinner cruises again! In the meantime, to find out more about this hotel,

FANTASEA CHARTERSIf you're looking for a dinner cruise Victoria BC offers in the downtown area, here's one that departs from the Inner Harbour area, which makes it a short walk from all the downtown hotels. However, Fantasea Charters seems to offer only chartered sailings for groups, requiring a minimum of 8 people. So if you've got a larger group of friends or family, this is for you (they require a minimum charter tour time of 2 hours). They don't sail to any of the outer islands, but they do a three-hour dinner cruise along Victoria's Inner Harbour and out along the southern shore of Victoria. Graeme and I went on this dinner cruise as part of a large group function. The food was good and the tour was nice (although we found the tour isn't quite as scenic as Oak Bay's...) OUR TIP:If you're not part of a group, try calling them anyway to see if they can customize something for you. Call toll-free at 1-888-721-1100. (This dinner cruise Victoria BC offers is available year-round). Their location is 950 Wharf Street.

Dinner Cruise - Sooke BC
SUSHI ON THE SEAHere's the totally unique dinner cruise we mentioned! If you don't mind a bit of a drive, then head west out of Victoria. You'll arrive in Sooke - and you're ready to set sail on Vancouver Island's only sushi dinner cruise! To get to Sooke, it's about a 40-minute drive one-way. Take the Highway west out of Victoria (just follow the signs to Sooke). This 4-hour all-you-can-eat cruise sails from Sooke to sheltered Pedder Bay and back again. On a clear evening, you'll see the sun set on the spectacular Olympic mountain range - all while you wine and dine. Kari, the Cruise Manager, told me that the best time for the dinner cruise is May to September. That's when the weather's mild, warm, and most enjoyable (but bring a sweater just in case...) Kari also says that the sushi dinner cruise is very popular, so best to make reservations before coming out. Cruises are open Friday and Saturday evenings, and they're located at 6669 Horne Rd, Sooke BC. Go down and around to the wharf and welcome aboard! For more information, call Kari at (250) 642-6650 or (250) 642-6669 or (250) 744-4908 (cell).

for more information. HOW TO GET TO SOOKE From Victoria: Highway 1 North to Exit 14 to the Langford Exit South (Millstream Road) - stay in the left of the two exit lanes and go under the overpass. This exit will take you to the Veteran's Memorial Parkway. Stay on Veteran's Memorial Parkway until you get to Sooke Road, Highway 14. Turn right and head west. NOTE: Be cautious on Sooke Highway 14 at night. The highway is winding and dark with narrow shoulders and it's best to take it on the slower side.
ANOTHER DINNER CRUISE! We've just discovered that's worth our recommendation...if you don't mind an overnight hop off Vancouver Island. We took a little trip over to Powell River, British Columbia. Powell River's located on the mainland, straight across from Comox on Vancouver Island. Access Powell River by ferry from Comox - crossing time is about 1 hour and 15 min. Once you arrive in Powell River, take a left from the ferry terminal and follow the highway signs to Lund. Lund is a small hamlet at the end of the road, about 15 minutes north of Powell River. This is where a fantastic dinner cruise is hidden away.
Pristine Charters
offers a three and a half hour dinner cruise in beautiful (more like breathtaking) Desolation Sound. Very good west coast cuisine is served. Cost is about $85 per person. The locals highly recommended this cruise to us. The sailing route for the cruise is excellent and you go a good distance into the Sound.
While you're here, you'll want to stay overnite. If you don't mind splurging to make it special, we recommend the historic
Lund Hotel
. Stay in their boutique room (they may have more than one). We toured the hotel and this room and we were very impressed. A romantic hotel room with a cozy feel and a great ocean view!
Welcome aboard your dinner cruise Victoria BC! Have a relaxing evening adventure!
